Health- wiped
Today I awoke at about 9am, spent a little time online then at around noon I laid back down again and proceeded to sleep the day away not waking again until 9:30 at night and I would love nothing better than to go back to sleep.
Not even going to attempt eating today, the very thought of it makes me turn green and my liquid intake for the day is abysmal so I might try to get at least a few ounces in but that is not a given.
The only reason I woke at all was to feed Loki and get my blog in for the day.
Loki, as those that read my blog might remember, is my service dog, a 5 and a half year old long haired Chihuahua who also happens to suffer from Gastroparesis and is on a special prescription dog food from the Veterinarian.
He has not been doing so hot himself and had been showing food aversion and I was starting to really battle getting him to eat when I decided to take his dry food and grind it up with a mortar and pestle to a fine powder before adding the water and microwaving it until warm. The result is a gruel that he is crazy about and seems to be easier to digest for him.
Loki also shares my lack of thirst... from the time he was a puppy it has been a daily battle to get him to drink, so (and I hate to say it) the amount of water he needs daily to keep him healthy has to be added to his food or he would not drink at all.
He will drink Ensure and Pediasure as well as any type of smoothie and other 'tasty' drinks but avoids water like the plague so he does get small portions of what I drink from time to time (when having a Pediasure or smoothie) but when I am not drinking myself he needs to have his fluids at a constant rate... so these 'tasty' drinks are more of a supplement and treat than a daily activity.
We have both been sleeping the day away and I think we will repeat that action and sleep the night away as well.
