Health- unchanged
Today was the Ten Year Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks on The United States of America and I made sure to be awake to watch on TV the dedication ceremony of the Monument at the site of the World Trade Centers in New York City.
I started crying the moment that the Drum and Pipes Corps marched into the Monument area and through the readings of all the people who lost their lives that day, keeping a vigil on my Television until the very last name was sent into the winds hours later.
The names were read by family members and loved ones, many times being read by children who were still in the womb when their Fathers were taken away... those young voices so clean and pure as they read the names.
Today is not about me... it is not about a physical illness...
Today is about finding a cure for the most insidious Invisible Illness of all... hate.
Hate is born when ignorance is fostered and people are led to believe that their belief system is the one and only correct one and that those who do not believe as they do are somehow lesser beings.
Hate is born when people decide that based on physical differences, skin tones, cultures and region of birth when it comes to the value of a human life.
On 9/11/01 hate killed people from all walks of life and all ages, it did not spare any religion, color, creed or nationality.
Many who abhor the act of 9/11 do not know that they foster hate, because hate is sneaky and hides behind other faces...
Hate is when a person feels that their religious path is the only one true path and that the followers of other religious paths or even a single religious path are following evil dictates or simply ignorant. Even when espousing the word 'love' in everything they do, the fact that they declare what other's follow as evil without even knowing those they judge is hate hiding under the mask of conviction. Those that made the planes crash had the exact same views for their own religion...
Hate is when a person locks their car doors when driving through an area with a predominate racial culture that is not their own... judging the people around them as unsafe because of the color of their skin or their country of origin. It is one thing to be in a known high crime area and take precautions and another to associate a tint of skin with crime... hate makes you see the varied shades of skin.
Hate is when any one person or group of people decide to push their own views on the entire population of their Country or Region and to make political choices based largely on the religious views of the leaders and not on what those leaders can do to build a brighter tomorrow. Hate wants to control others and force them to recite the words of a single faith in a world of many faiths, subjugating other faiths 'benignly' because it makes those of that faith feel more comfortable... while making those of other faiths feel that their choices and freedoms do not matter. Hate likes to control under the mask of kindness...
Hate likes to build walls and make definitions... to point out the differences and pit one faction against the other so that strangers dislike strangers... having never met they decide that they do not like them based solely on the differences.
We need to cure Hate... it is invisible and within each and every one of us masquerading as so many things, but when you dig deep and look at the real driving force behind things there hides hate... and we can remove hate from these things if we are all willing to examine the why's of it all and replace the hate with understanding.
Some people might hate this blog post, but I ask them to examine why... because I know I am just as guilty of hate and have to cure it within myself as well and have only stated where I think it hides and welcome in my comments your views on this matter.
All I ask is that it not be done in the forms of attacks but in the form of opening the door to bring the light to the seeds of hate so that we can all help heal each other.
